The General IP List consists of claims and appeals concerning the intellectual property rights listed in Practice Direction 63 paragraph 16.1, which include copyrights and related rights, design rights, registered trade marks and claims for passing off and misuse of trade secrets. Appeals come from the Intellectual Property Office (in cases concerning registered trade marks) and from the Copyright Tribunal (in cases concerning the licensing of copyrights and performers’ rights).

Procedure in the General IP List is governed by Sections II-IV of CPR Part 63 and of Practice Direction 63.
