Appointment as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber: James Thomas

James Simon Edward Thomas has been appointed as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal by the Senior President of Tribunals, the Right Honourable Sir Ernest Ryder.

The Senior President of Tribunals has assigned him to the Social Entitlement Chamber with effect from 6 January 2020.

Notes to editors

James Simon Edward Thomas, aged 38, will be known as Judge James Thomas. He was called to the Bar (I) in 2005 and admitted to the Roll in 2010. He was appointed as both a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber and a Deputy District Judge in 2019.
