Circuit Judge Appointment: Astbury

The Queen has appointed Joanne Astbury to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Kingston-upon-Hull Combined Court with effect from 4 November 2019.

Joanne Astbury, aged 52 will be known as Her Honour Judge Astbury. She was called to the Bar (L) in 1989. She served as a Judge in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal between 2004 and 2010 and was appointed as a Recorder in 2008.
