Circuit Judge Appointment: Shepherd
The Queen has appointed Richard Andrew John Shepherd to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Western Circuit, based at Portsmouth Combined Court Centre with effect from 19 July 2021.
Background Information
Richard Andrew John Shepherd, aged 42, will be known as His Honour Judge Shepherd. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 2001. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2018.
