District Judge Appointment: Markland

The Queen has appointed Janice Lynne Markland to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Western Circuit, based at Southampton Combined Court Centre with effect from 27 April 2020, on a salaried part-time basis of 60%.

Notes to editors

Janice Lynne Markland, aged 53, will be known as District Judge Markland. She was admitted to the Roll in 1990. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2015.
