District Judge Appointment: Shakespeare
The Queen has appointed Susan Shakespeare to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Sunderland County Court with effect from 1 April 2020, on a salaried part-time basis of 50%.

Susan Shakespeare, aged 52, will be known as District Judge Shakespeare. She was admitted to the Roll in 1995, and was called to the Bar (I) in 2007. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2003.
