District Judge Appointment: Sufiyan Rana

The Queen has appointed Sufiyan Nasim Rana to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Huddersfield County Court with effect from 4 January 2022.

Background Information

Sufiyan Nasim Rana, aged 46, will be known as District Judge Sufiyan Rana. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1999. He was appointed as both a Deputy District Judge and as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber) in 2019.
