The Queen has appointed Sushil Kumar to be a District Judge (Magistrates’ courts) on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Bromley Magistrates’ Court with effect from 6 December 2021.

Background Information

Sushil Kumar, aged 38, will be known as District Judge (Magistrates’ courts) Kumar. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2009. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber, in 2019.
