Michael Roots has been appointed as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal by the Senior President of Tribunals, the Right Honourable Sir Ernest Ryder.
The Senior President of Tribunals has assigned him to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber with effect from 2 January 2020.

Michael Roots, aged 58, will be known as Judge Roots. He was admitted to the Roll in 1994. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2011 and as a Deputy District Judge in 2015.
