Claire Elizabeth Burns has been appointed as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal on the advice of the Senior President of Tribunals, the Right Honourable Sir Ernest Ryder.
The Senior President of Tribunals has assigned her to the Social Entitlement chamber, with effect from 2nd December 2019.

Claire Elizabeth Burns, aged 50, will be continue to be known as Judge Claire Burns. She was admitted to the roll in 1993. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-Tier Tribunal in the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2011 and to the War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber in 2018 and cross-ticketed to the Criminal Injuries Compensation jurisdiction in 2018.
