HM The Queen has appointed Rebecca Jane Owens to be a Judge of the Upper Tribunal assigned on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Senior President of Tribunals, the Right Honourable Sir Ernest Ryder.

The Senior President of Tribunals has assigned her to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber with effect from 24 June 2019.

Rebecca Jane Owens, aged 53 will be known as Upper Tribunal Judge Owens. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1995. She was appointed as an Adjudicator in 2006, as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber in 2008 and as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber in 2011.
