HM The Queen has appointed David Michael Walker Pickup to be a Salaried Judge of the Upper Tribunal on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Gauke MP and the Senior President of Tribunals, the Right Honourable Sir Ernest Ryder.

The Senior President of Tribunals has assigned he to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber with effect from 28 May 2019.

David Michael Walker Pickup, aged 61 will be known as Upper Tribunal Judge Pickup. He was called to the Bar (I) in 1984. He was appointed a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber in 2006, as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Health, Education, Social Care Chamber in 2007, as a fee-paid Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge of the Upper Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber in 2012 and as a Salaried Judge of the First-Tier Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum in 2018.
