Appointment of a High Court Judge: Brunner

The Lady Chief Justice is delighted to welcome the appointment by His Majesty the King of Kate Brunner KC to the High Court.
Mrs Justice Brunner will be assigned to the King’s Bench Division where she will bring over 28 years of experience as a barrister, and 13 years of judicial experience as a Recorder and Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge, to the role.
This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.
Background
Kate Brunner KC will be known as The Honourable Mrs Justice Brunner. She was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1997 and took Silk in 2015. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2012 and as a Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge in 2014.
She will take up appointment on 17 November 2025.
