Appointment of a High Court Judge: Eardley KC
The Lady Chief Justice is delighted to welcome the appointment by His Majesty the King of Aidan Eardley KC to the High Court.
Mr Justice Eardley will be assigned to the King’s Bench Division where he will bring over 24 years of experience as a barrister, and 13 years of judicial experience as a Deputy High Court Judge, Recorder and Deputy First-Tier Tribunal Judge, to the role.
This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.
Background
Aidan Eardley KC will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Eardley. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2002 and took Silk in 2022. He was appointed as a Deputy First-Tier Tribunal Judge in 2013. He was also appointed as a Recorder in 2020 and as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2024.
He will take up appointment on 1 October 2026.
