Appointment of a High Court Judge: Mansfield
The Lady Chief Justice is delighted to welcome the appointment by His Majesty the King of Gavin Mansfield KC to the High Court.
Mr Justice Mansfield will be assigned to the King’s Bench Division where he will bring over 32 years of experience as a barrister, and seven years of judicial experience as a Deputy High Court Judge and Recorder, to the role.
This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.
Background
Gavin Mansfield KC will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Mansfield. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1992 and took Silk in 2013. He was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2018 and as a Recorder in 2022.
He will take up appointment on 3 November 2025.
