Appointment of a High Court Judge: Norton
The Lady Chief Justice is delighted to welcome the appointment by his Majesty the King of Heather Norton to the High Court.
Ms Justice Norton will be assigned to the King’s Bench Division where she will bring over 24 years of experience as a barrister, and 18 years of judicial experience as a Recorder and Circuit Judge, to the role.
This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.
Background
Heather Norton will be known as The Honourable Ms Justice Norton. She was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1988. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2007 and as a Circuit Judge in 2012.
She will take up appointment on 6 October 2025.
