Appointment of a High Court Judge: Pievsky KC
The Lady Chief Justice is delighted to welcome the appointment by His Majesty the King of David Pievsky KC to the High Court.
Mr Justice Pievsky will be assigned to the King’s Bench Division where he will bring over 25 years of experience as a barrister, and seven years of judicial experience as a Deputy High Court Judge and a Deputy First-Tier Tribunal Judge, to the role.
This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.
Background
David Pievsky KC will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Pievsky. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 2001 and took Silk in 2020. He was appointed as a Deputy First-Tier Tribunal Judge in 2019 and as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2021.
He will take up appointment on 1 December 2026.
