Appointment of a High Court Judge: Squires KC
The Lady Chief Justice is delighted to welcome the appointment by His Majesty the King of Daniel Squires KC to the High Court.
Mr Justice Squires will be assigned to the King’s Bench Division where he will bring over 28 years of experience as a barrister, and eight years of judicial experience as a Deputy High Court Judge to the role.
This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.
Background
Daniel Squires KC will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Squires. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1998 and took Silk in 2016. He was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2018.
He will take up appointment on 1 October 2026.
