Appointment of three new Senior Coroners and two new Area Coroners
The Chief Coroner, His Honour Judge Thomas Teague KC, has welcomed the appointment of three new Senior Coroners and two new Area Coroners in England and Wales. They are:
- Newcastle Upon Tyne, as the relevant authority, have appointed Georgina Nolan as senior coroner for the Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside coroner areas
- South Yorkshire West, as the relevant authority, have appointed Tanyka Rawden as senior coroner for the Sheffield coroner area
- Somerset, as the relevant authority, have appointed Samantha Marsh as the senior coroner for the Somerset coroner area
- South Wales Central, as the relevant authority, have appointed Patricia Morgan as area coroner for the South Wales Central coroner area
- Suffolk, as the relevant authority, have appointed Darren Stewart as area coroner for the Suffolk coroner area
All appointments were made following an open competition and after receiving the consent of the Chief Coroner and Lord Chancellor.
