Following her nomination by the Lord President, The Senior President of Tribunals, Lord Justice James Dingemans, has appointed Lady Anna Poole to serve as President of the Upper Tribunal, Administrative Appeals Chamber. This appointment takes effect from 9 February 2026.

Lady Anna Poole qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales in London in 1996. After returning to Scotland, she became a Scottish solicitor in 1997 and was called to the Scottish Bar (Faculty of Advocates) in 1998 and took silk in 2012.
Lady Anna Poole was appointed as a Standing Junior Counsel to the Scottish Government in 2002, Second Standing Junior in 2009, First Standing Junior in 2010, and served as an ad hoc Advocate Depute (prosecutor in the High Court) in 2013. In 2014 Lady Anna Poole was appointed as a fee-paid Judge of the UK First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber), before becoming a salaried Judge of the UK Upper Tribunal (Administrative Appeals Chamber) in 2018. Lady Poole was appointed as a Senator of the College of Justice in Scotland in January 2020
