Chancery Master Appointment: Brightwell
The King has appointed James Brightwell to be a Master of the Chancery Division on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Royal Courts of Justice with effect from 30 January 2023.
Background Information:
James Brightwell will be known as Master Brightwell. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2000. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2010 and Deputy Master of the Chancery Division in 2020.
