Circuit Judge Appointment: Ashby

The King has appointed Luke Ashby to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Central London County Court and the Central Family Court, with effect from 3 February 2025.

Background Information
Luke Ashby will be known as His Honour Judge Ashby. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 2007. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber, in 2019, a Deputy District Judge in 2019, a District Judge in 2022 and as a Recorder in 2023.
