Circuit Judge Appointment: Branston
The King has appointed Gareth Branston to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Maidstone Crown Court with effect from 18 October 2023.
Background Information
Gareth Branston will be known as His Honour Judge Branston. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1996. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2009, as a Recorder in 2012, and as a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2013.
