Circuit Judge Appointment: Bristow

The King has appointed John Llewelyn Bristow to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Basildon Crown Court, with effect from 26 January 2026.

Background Information

John Llewelyn Bristow will be known as His Honour Judge Bristow. He was admitted to the Roll in 2000. He was appointed as a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber, in 2018 and as a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2020.
