Circuit Judge Appointment: Butterfield QC

The Queen has appointed John Arthur Butterfield QC to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midland Circuit, based at Wolverhampton Crown Court and Birmingham Crown Court with effect from 26 May 2020.

John Arthur Butterfield QC, aged 48, will be known as His Honour Judge Butterfield QC. He was called to the Bar (L) in 1995 and took Silk in 2014. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2009.
