Circuit Judge Appointment: Conley

The King has appointed Richard Conley to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Basildon Crown Court, with effect from 4 November 2024.

Background Information
Richard Conley will be known as His Honour Judge Conley. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2000 and called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2021. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Employment Judge and a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber, in 2021. He was also appointed as a Recorder in 2022.
