Circuit Judge Appointment: Dhaliwal-Thomas

The King has appointed Bal Dhaliwal-Thomas to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon. 

The former Lord Chief Justice deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Luton Crown Court with effect from 1 May 2024.

Bal Dhaliwal-Thomas will be known as Her Honour Judge Dhaliwal-Thomas. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1997. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2006, as a Recorder in 2009, as a First-tier Tribunal Judge, Social Entitlement Chamber in 2013 and as a First-tier Tribunal Judge, Health, Education and Social Care Chamber in 2018.
