Circuit Judge Appointment: Fanning
The Queen has appointed Michael Leonard Fanning to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Great Grimsby Combined Court Centre with effect from 6 September 2021.
Background Information
Michael Leonard Fanning, aged 53, will be known as His Honour Judge Fanning. He was admitted to the Roll in 1993. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2009, as a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 2012 and as a Recorder in 2019.
