Circuit Judge Appointment: Law
The King has appointed John Law to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Wood Green Crown Court, with effect from 5 January 2026.
Background Information
John Law will be known as His Honour Judge Law. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1996. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge and Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber, in 2019. He was also appointed as a District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts ) in 2021 and as a Recorder in 2022.
