Circuit Judge Appointment: Liebrecht
The King has appointed Michael Liebrecht to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Oxford County Court, with effect from 30 March 2026.
Background Information
Michael Liebrecht will be known as His Honour Judge Liebrecht. He was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1989. In 2019, he was appointed as a Recorder and Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Health, Education and Social Care Chamber.
