Circuit Judge Appointment: Najib

The Queen has appointed Mohammed Shakil Najib to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midlands Circuit, based at Nottingham County Court with effect from 1 August 2022.

Background Information

Mohammed Shakil Najib will be known as His Honour Judge Najib. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1999. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2018, as a Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge, assigned to the Administrative Appeals Chamber in 2018, and as a Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber in 2020.
