Circuit Judge Appointment: Newport
The King has appointed Ian Newport to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The former Lord Chief Justice deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Luton Family Court with effect from 09 October 2023.
Ian Newport will be known as His Honour Judge Newport. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 2000. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2019.
