The Queen has appointed Nicola Jane Smith to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Luton County Court with effect from 11 May 2020 on a salaried part time basis of 80%.

Nicola Jane Smith, aged 48, will be known as Her Honour Judge Nicola Smith. She was called to the Bar (G) in 1994. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2013 and as a District Judge in 2016.
