Circuit Judge Appointment: Stott
The King has appointed Matthew Stott to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Watford County and Family Court, with effect from 24 November 2025.
Background Information
Matthew Stott will be known as His Honour Judge Stott. He was admitted to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 2005. He was appointed as a Recorder, a Deputy District Judge, and a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber, in 2019.
