Circuit Judge Appointment: Thistle
The King has appointed Dean Thistle to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP, and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Medway County Court, with effect from 10 November 2025.
Background Information
Dean Thistle will be known as His Honour Judge Thistle. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2007, he was also called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2010. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019, and as a District Judge in 2021.
