Circuit Judge Appointment: Thomas
The King has appointed Charles Thomas to be a Circuit Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The former Lord Chief Justice deployed him to the North Eastern Circuit, based at Sheffield Combined Court (Crown) with effect from 8 January 2024.
Charles Thomas will be known as His Honour Judge Charles Thomas. He was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1990. He was appointed as a Recorder in 2019.
