District Judge Appointment: Bains
The King has appointed Ranjit Bains to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midlands Circuit, based at Dudley County Court and Family Court, with effect from 13 July 2026.
Background Information
Ranjit Bains will be known as District Judge Bains. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2017. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2024. In 2025 he was appointed as a Chairman of the Police Appeals Tribunal and as a Fee Paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber.
