District Judge Appointment: Carter

The Queen has appointed James Matthew Oliver Carter to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midland Circuit, based at Nottingham County Court with effect from 8 November 2021.

Background Information

James Matthew Oliver Carter, aged 35, will be known as District Judge James Carter. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2010. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019.
