District Judge Appointment: Carter

The Queen has appointed Richard Charles Carter to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Northern Circuit, based at Manchester Civil Justice Centre (Civil and Family Court) with effect from 6 April 2020.

Richard Charles Carter, aged 51, will be known as District Judge Carter. He was called to the Bar (I) in 1990. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2013 and as a Recorder in 2019.
