District Judge Appointment: Catherine Hartley

The Queen has appointed Catherine Anne Hartley to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Western Circuit, based at Aldershot County Court with effect from 09 November 2020.

Background Information

Catherine Anne Hartley, aged 39, will be known as District Judge Catherine Hartley. She was called to the Bar (I) in 2006. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chambers , as a Deputy District Judge in 2019 and as a Road User Charging Adjudicator in 2019. She was appointed as a Recorder in 2020.
