District Judge Appointment: Chakravarty
The King has appointed Gita Chakravarty to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Central London County Court, with effect from 27 April 2026.
Background Information
Gita Chakravarty will be known as District Judge Chakravarty. She was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 2010. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2022.
