District Judge Appointment: Chataway
The King has appointed Ben Chataway to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Dominic Raab MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Reading County Court with effect from Monday 9 January 2023.
Background Information
Ben Chataway will be known as District Judge Chataway. He was called to the Bar in 1995 (Lincoln’s Inn) and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1998. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2007.
