District Judge Appointment: Demosthenous
The King has appointed Maria Demosthenous to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed her to the Midlands Circuit, based at Derby County Court, with effect from 3 August 2026.
Background Information
Maria Demosthenous will be known as District Judge Demosthenous. She was admitted to the Roll in 2003. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2022.
