District Judge Appointment: Hamilton

The King has appointed William Hamilton to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill. 

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the Northern Circuit, based at Blackburn County Court, with effect from 5 August 2026.

Background Information

William Hamilton will be known as District Judge Hamilton. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2008. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2022 and as a Fee Paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, in 2024.
