District Judge Appointment: Hay
The King has appointed Teresa Hay to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.
The Lady Chief Justice has deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Brighton County Court, with effect from 7 April 2026.
Background Information
Teresa Hay will be known as District Judge Teresa Hay. She was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 2001. She was appointed as a Fee Paid Adjudicator of the Road User Charging Tribunal in 2019. She was also appointed as an Employment Judge, a Fee paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health Education and Social Care Chamber, and a Deputy District Judge in 2021.
