District Judge Appointment: Hockney

The Queen has appointed Clare Jane Hockney to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Robert Buckland QC MP and the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon.

The Lord Chief Justice has deployed her to the Midland Circuit, based at Birmingham Civil and Family Justice Centre with effect from 28 October 2019 on a salaried part time basis of 80%.

Clare Jane Hockney, aged 49 will be known as District Judge Hockney. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1995. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Social Entitlement Chamber in 2013 and was authorised to sit in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal in 2016.
