District Judge Appointment: John Roberts

The King has appointed John Roberts to be a District Judge on the advice of the then Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable David Lammy MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill. 

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midlands Circuit, based at Wolverhampton Combined Court, with effect from 5 October 2026.

Background Information
John Melvyn Roberts will be known as District Judge John Roberts. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2003. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2022 and as a Fee Paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Health, Education and Social Care Chamber in 2025.
