District Judge Appointment: Kathryn Shakespeare

The King has appointed Kathryn Shakespeare to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon. 

The former Lord Chief Justice deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Clerkenwell and Shoreditch County Court, with effect from 15 January 2024.

Background Information

Kathryn Shakespeare will be known as District Judge Kathryn Shakespeare. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2003. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber, in 2020.
