District Judge Appointment: McLoughlin

The King has appointed Andrew McLoughlin to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill. 

The Lady Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midlands Circuit, based at Birmingham County Court, with effect from 18 November 2024.

Background Information

Andrew McLoughlin will be known as District Judge McLoughlin. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1983. He was appointed as a Recorder in 1998, as a Deputy District Judge in 2022, and as a Fee paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Immigration and Asylum Chamber, in 2023.
