District Judge Appointment: Ozen

The King has appointed Simge Ozen to be a District Judge on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Alex Chalk KC MP and the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable The Lord Burnett of Maldon. 

The former Lord Chief Justice deployed her to the South Eastern Circuit, based at Canterbury and Thanet County Courts with effect from 2 January 2024.

Background Information

Simge Ozen will be known as District Judge Ozen. She was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2003; she was also admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2006. She was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019, and as a Salaried Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber, in 2021.
